Hibbett Middle School is situated in the northwestern part of Florence,

Alabama, the Renaissance City.  One of two middle schools in the Florence

City School system, Hibbett enjoys a reputation of excellence.

Hibbett School opened its doors on August 27, 1980, to an enthusiastic

group of students in grades kindergarten through 8. In the spring of 1997,

the decision was made by the Florence City Board of Education to change

the school’s population to accommodate only students in grades 6 through

8, so the fall of that year saw the new configuration. Then, in the fall of

2002, as part of the total reorganization of the entire school system,

Hibbett Middle School became the base school for all students in Florence

in grades 5 and 6 – which holds true today.

The walls at Hibbett are always alive with our students' creative artwork

and projects!  Past Projects have included  Heroes, Biomes, Black History,

Northwest Indians, and more. While our students are very talented, our

teachers organize and teach the methods behind making some incredible

and very interesting items!

Our principal, Dr. Rose McGee, and our assistant principal, Mr. Corey Behel,

invite you to explore our school as it is represented in this web site.
